I am delighted to inform the IEEE Mauritius Section members that on 9th September 2020, IEEE has approved the formation of the “IEEE Mauritius Section Power and Energy, and Systems Council Joint Chapter“.

Congratulations to all members of this newly formed joint chapter.

I am also pleased to inform that Mr. Ahad A. Jhumka has been appointed as the interim-President of the joint chapter. He will be tasked to appoint a vice-president, secretary and president. After which, a series of activities will be organised for the members.

It is with great pleasure that I have been assigned the role of Interim President of the IEEE Power & Energy Society Chapter by the IEEE Mauritius Section.

As Interim President, my role is to promote the power and energy engineering field locally through training, webinar and seminars. I am pleased to say that the two webinars organized recently in conjunction with IEEE Mauritius section were very successful and highly informative.

I would end by saying that the collaboration of all members would be of utmost importance to make the local PES Chapter a successful and recognized one.
