It was a memorable Easter day celebration as a solar-powered water scheme was commissioned for the dwellers of Umuahia Ohekelem and environs. On March 30, 2024 at about 4pm, an IEEE region 8 and Humanitarian Technology Board (HTB) sponsored water scheme was commissioned for dwellers of Umuahia.

Prior to the commissioning ceremony which was graced by Men, Women, Youths and Children of Umuahia Ohekelem, a close-out meeting took place between the project team and people of Umuahia. During the stakeholders’ meeting, Engr Oto-obong John Effiong (Project Team Lead) re-emphasized the need to sustain the project deliverable over the years. In his own remarks, the village head (Nze Hillary Okere) assured the project team that the village will sustain the project.

Following the conclusion of the meeting which was similar to the one done prior to the project commencement on February 1, 2024, the project was closed-out with jubilation among the people of Umuahia Ohekelem. Gallery speaks!
