Empowering through Web 3.0. technologies

Room: Amphi A , Bldg: Polytech, Université La Sagesse , 2nd floor, Furn Al Chebbak, Lebanon, Lebanon

The event organized by LADT in collaboration with Université La Sagesse aims to shed light on the transformative potential of Web3 technologies in the realm of financial inclusion and digital transformation. Through a comprehensive program from 3 pm to 5 pm, participants will be introduced to key concepts such as digital transformation, Web3 technologies, blockchain, cryptocurrency, stable coins, security measures and private keys, wallets, and the state of financial exclusion along with potential solutions. The event will also feature Empowch, a visionary fintech company, demonstrating how Web3 can address financial exclusion and open doors to economic opportunities for marginalized populations. By fostering discussions and showcasing practical solutions, this event seeks to inspire action towards a more inclusive and empowered financial ecosystem, benefiting individuals, businesses, and policy makers alike. IEEE ComSoc Lebanon 2024 Lecture Series: From Modular Robotics to Programmable Matter, Some Hardware and Algorithmic Perspectives.

Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/416377

The miniaturization of modular robots and advances in distributed algorithms mean that we can envisage the production of a self-reconfigurable programmable matter. The concept of programmable matter is to replace the atoms that make up ordinary matter with micro-robots. These micro-robots give this matter new capabilities in sensing and actuation. All that's needed is for the robots to be able to move in relation to each other, and we can envisage a self-reconfigurable program matter, i.e. one that can change shape at will, but we'll show that this property is hard to achieve. Through recent research, we will illustrate the computer science issues and the first hardware solutions proposed.
