Ibrahim Abdel-al Hydropower plant visit-BAU

The event catered to the BAU Debbieh Electric Power and Machines program students, consisting of approximately 36 students and four instructors from different academic levels (2nd to 5th year). The students embarked on a visit to the Ibrahim Abdel-al Hydropower Plant, located in Bekaa, Lebanon. The journey from Beirut to the plant took around two hours, with the students enjoying the scenic route aboard the university bus. Upon arrival, they were warmly greeted by the plant's staff and guided through various sections, including transformers, generators, and protection equipment. Afterward, the students had the opportunity to explore the Qaroun Dam, primarily used for power generation. The visit lasted for about two hours before the students commenced their return journey, enjoying an hour-long breakfast and lunch break along the way. This event provided the students with valuable firsthand knowledge of power plant operations and the significance of hydroelectric power. They returned to their studies inspired, armed with new insights to apply in their electric power and machines pursuits.
