In order to facilitate collaboration & encourage exchange of membership development and technical units related training & techniques within our region, Region 8 Membership Development Committee and Chapter Coordination Committee, with full support from R8 MA & TA, will organize a Region 8 Volunteer Leadership Training in April 2024.

The main focus of this Training is to train newly elected Membership Development Chairs and Chapter Chairs, both Technical and Student Branch Chapters! Below are some initial details:

What: R8 Volunteer Leadership Training
Where: Skopje, North Macedonia
When: 2024, April 5-6th

Who should attend: All R8 Membership Development Chairs and Chapter Chairs, Section Chairs and Chair-Elect, especially those who are NEW in the position in 2024. The workshop not only will present strategies, best practices & tools for Membership Development and Technical Activities within the IEEE Sections, but will also be an open forum to learn best practices from each other.

Please note that the hotel reservation should be communicated with the hotel directly.

Important Notes:

• Respective section chairs are CC’ed in this email, and prospective attendees should seek their permission/sponsorship before confirming.
• Attendees should plan on arriving at the hotel no later than 2 pm on Friday, April 5th for a one night stay.
• Attendees should plan to leave on the evening of Saturday, April 6th.
• Region 8 will cover the following expenses only**:
•  Accommodation of attendees in a hotel for one night (April 5/6th),  after approval of your registration we will send the hotel reservation detailed information. If you want to prolong your stay at the beautiful Skopje, please take into account that IEEE R8 covers only one night, but during hotel reservation, you can reserve planned nights of your stay at the hotel for the same IEEE rate (please beware, the additional stay must be covered by you own).
• Coffee break, City/Walking tour organized by host and Networking Dinner on Friday evening
•  Breakfast, Lunch and Coffee breaks during the workshop on Saturday

**For all other expenses not mentioned above, attendees are expected to make the necessary arrangements (e.g., airline & logistic costs to/from the venue etc.). Attendees kindly ask your Section Chair/Treasurer how to proceed.

REGISTRATION:

• If you plan to attend, please register through vTools (at IEEE Region 8 Volunteer Leadership Training 2024: vTools Events) and fill in the form 2024 Region 8 Volunteer Leadership Training (google.com) as soon as possible, no later than 22:00 GMT on Monday, 5 February 2024, so that we may confirm the exact number of attendees to proceed further.
• Interested people should not buy tickets yet until receiving a final confirmed plan from organizers. You may, however, start to look for cheap flights arriving by afternoon in Skopje on Friday, April 5th, and departing on April 6th evening.
• Hotel reservation detailed information will be provided after your registration personally.
•  If you want to take someone else with you, please indicate it in a special comment field provided in the Google form 2024 Region 8 Volunteer Leadership Training (google.com).
• Invitations and assistance for visa acquisition will be arranged by the IEEE North Makedonia Section.
