Prof. Bachar A. ElHassan
Biography
Bachar A. ElHassan got his engineering Diploma in 1991 from the faculty of engineering of the Lebanese university, Tripoli Lebanon, his MS in signal and image processing in 1992 from the National polytechnic institute (INPG) of Grenoble, France and his PhD in electronics in 1995 from the INPG-France in collaboration with France Telecom. Since 1996 till now he is working at the faculty of engineering of the Lebanese University, Tripoli, Lebanon where he is now a full professor. He is now and served as chairman of the electrical engineering department for more than six years. He is also the founder and the director of the laboratory of Telecommunication, Networking and Microwaves (LTRM) of the Doctoral School of Sciences and Technologies (EDST) of the Lebanese University. His research interest’s concern image processing, digital communications, intelligence in wireless sensor networks and internet of things.
He was the chair of IEEE ComSoc Lebanon chapter between January 2013 and December 2016 and the Vice Chair of IEEE Lebanon Section between January 2017 and December 2018. He is now the Chair of IEEE Lebanon section since January 2019. He founded and was the director of the development and training center at the Order of Engineers and Architects Tripoli, Lebanon between July 2009 and December 2013. He was the Secretary and the Head of Employed Engineers branch at the Order of Engineers and Architects of Tripoli, Lebanon between April 2016 and April 2019.
