The 4th edition of Sense IT will bring together distinguished speakers from academia to showcase research perspectives from women involved in the field of sensors, representing various levels of experience and academic positions. The first track of the program is dedicated to Diagnostics, featuring presentations from accomplished researchers such as Dr. Maria Cristina Bisi, MD Marta De Rinaldis, Prof. Shabana Urooj, Dr. Francesca De Tommasi, Dr. Eleonora Barcali, Dr. Sara Lombardi, and Dr. Elena De Vita. Their talks will cover innovative applications ranging from wearable sensors for gait analysis to fiber optic sensors for physiological monitoring.
The second track will focus on Rehabilitation, with presentations from Dr. Elisa Reho and Prof. Aimé Lay-Ekuakille, exploring ultrasound sensing for critical health issues and sensing systems for robotic neurorehabilitation. The event will also feature a special presentation from WeWomEngineers, represented by Ing. Veronica Moi.
The 4th edition of Sense IT will provide an invaluable opportunity for knowledge sharing and networking, fostered by the presentations of these distinguished speakers. The presence of both emerging researchers and established scientists will promote the advancement of women in sensor-related programs and more broadly in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines. This event, organized at the University of Salento, represents a significant platform for highlighting women’s contributions to sensor technology and encouraging future generations of female researchers in this field.
