We proudly announce that in this year 2018 our IEEE Photonics Italy Chapter won the IEEE 2018 Chapter of the Year Award, for “…their innovative technical programming as well as for building an environment that reflects the rich diversity of the photonics community. From organizing the “1st International School on Nano-Tooling” and supporting governmental initiatives related to quantum technologies to continually holding Women in Photonics, Young Professionals and STEM Outreach programming, the Italy chapter consistently provides concrete educational opportunities for its members. This past year the chapter reached and positively impacted over 1,500 people with photonics in their region”

The Award Ceremony took place at the IEEE Photonics Conference Award’s Banquet in Reston, VA, USA ieee-ipc.org on October 1, 2018.
