School on Spatiotemporal complexity in nonlinear optics
31 August, 2015
The objective of the school is to present interdisciplinary approaches to the modeling and understanding of complex optical systems, ranging from lasers to multimode wave guides and optical communication networks. For example, consider thermodynamic approaches to describe spatio-temporal pattern formation in lasers, turbulence theory applied to both integrable and near-integrable dynamical systems such as fibers for supercontinuum generation, and information theory analysis of nonlinear methods to overcome classical limits to the capacity of transmission channels.
