The IEEE Greece Section Women in Engineering Affinity Group and its Student Branches in Patras, Lamia, Volos and Xanthi celebrate the International Women’s Day by organizing the IEEE Greece Section Women in Engineering Week 2022.

On Tuesday 8 March at 18:00 the event concerns the Gender Equality policies at Greek Universities. The panel is comprised of: a) a lecture entitled “Gender Equality Strategy and Key Priority Areas of AUTh Gender Equality Committees” by Professor Dimitra Kogkidou, b) a lecture entitled “The Gender Equality Committee of the National Technical University of Athens: Thoughts, Actions, Perspectives” by Professor Riva Lava and c) a lecture entitled “Getting started with a Gender Equality Plan – Analysing and assessing the state-of-play in the institution” by Mrs Eleni Karachaliou, with discussion following the three lectures. On Wednesday 9 March at 18:00 a lecture entitled “MANAenGineER, ΜaNa-gement, Multitasking, Mentoring and more …” given by Dr Eleni Voyiatzaki and a lecture entitled “Female students in STEM: Current situation and tools to attract and support them” given by Assistant Professor Panagiota Rouni is organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group of the Student Branch of the University of Patras. On Thursday 10 March at 17:15 a lecture entitled ” Bread & Roses in Science ” will be given by Mrs Efthymia Arvaniti Koutsiana and Mrs Katia Karali. The event is organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group of the Student Branch of the University of Thessaly in Lamia. On Friday 11 March at 19:00 an event entitled “Women in Greece: Inspirational portaits in STEM” is organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group of the Student Branch of the University of Thessaly in Volos. On Saturday 12 March at 17:00 a lecture entitled “Enhancing gender balance in STEM fields in Greece” will be given by Mrs Rafaela Mavridaki and Mrs Danae Bezantakou.
