THE IEEE GREECE PES CHAPTER

Mission

The IEEE Greece PES Chapter has been active since 1980s.

The main goals of the chapter are:

  • to promote the study and practice of power systems engineering;
  • to interchange technical information and experience in power engineering;
  • to foster collaboration among members;
  • to promote linkage with other PES Chapters in Region 8 and in the other Regions

Membership

IEEE Greece PES Chapter members (about 250) are industry leaders, practitioners, students and academics with a common professional interest in electric power and energy.

Activities

The IEEE Greece PES Chapter organizes numerous events throughout the year, including seminars, workshops, contests, and tours.

ASSOCIATED ORGANIZATIONAL UNITS

IEEE Greece Section has a total of 2020 members, 1245 of which are professional members and 410 are students. That makes IEEE Greece Section one of the largest Sections in Region 8 (Europe, Asia, Africa). IEEE Greece Section is also one of the most active Sections in IEEE. Its members organize more than 20 scientific conferences per year attracting more than 10000 visitors. They also organize seminars and workshops covering a huge range of interests.
IEEE Young Professionals Greece aims to assist young professional’s transition from student to professional life. YP Greece is organizing several events, seminars, webinars etc in order to promote the professional growth of young electrical engineers. Moreover, it has established the Mentoring Program of the IEEE Greece Section, which supports young engineers at their first professional steps by providing guidance from seasoned mentors.
