Jani Dugonik is an academic researcher at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Informatics of the University of Maribor. He has been working in the field of natural language processing and evolutionary algorithms for more than 10 years, and in the field of artificial intelligence for over 5 years. He has been a member of IEEE for 7 years. Currently, he is the Chair of the Student Branch Maribor, Vice-chair of Young Professionals Slovenia, and Chair of the Computational Intelligence Society Slovenia. He has also been a corresponding member of WIE R8 since 2023.
Andre L. Cakici is an M.Sc. student at the Department of Medical Engineering, Friedrich-
Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. He received his B.Sc. in biomedical engineering from Bahçeşehir University, Turkey. He is a research assistant at the Neuromuscular Physiology and Neural Interfacing Chair in his current institution and the Publicity/PR lead on the IEEE EMBS YP Committee. His research interests include neurophysiology, human-machine interfaces, biosignal processing and rehabilitation engineering.
Mohamed Ali Zormati is an IoT research engineer who graduated from the National Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (INSAT), Tunisia, in September 2023. His recent work is in the field of IoT intelligent softwarized networks, with several publications on this topic. In addition to his academic career, Mohamed Ali has been an active volunteer within IEEE since 2019. He currently serves as the Volunteer Tools Coordinator in IEEE Tunisia Section and as the Student Branch Chapters Coordinator in IEEE Region 8 (Europe, Middle East, Africa). Previously, Mohamed Ali was the Chair of the IEEE INSAT Student Branch for 2021-2022, hosting the 2022 edition of the IEEE Region 8 SYP Congress. He is the recipient of the 2022 Tunisia Section Outstanding Achievement Award.
Krishna Ajith is a recent Mechatronics Engineering graduate. She was an IEEE member since 2019. She served as Student branch chair from 2020 till 2023. In 2023, she also joined the region 8 student activities committee. Apart from this, she also volunteers for IEEE Smart village and IEEEXtreme.
Alkiviadis Michalitsis was born in Piraeus Greece. He is a final-year Electrical and Computer Engineering Student at the National Technical University of Athens. He has been an IEEE Student Member since 2019 and an active volunteer at his local Student Branch. Since 2021 he has been the IEEE Greece Section Student Representative. He had the opportunity to organize and lead the last IEEE Hellenic Student and Young Professional Congress, which was held on the 20-21 of November 2021 virtually due to the pandemic. In February 2023, he joined the IEEE Region 8 Sac Training and Leadership Support Committee as a Corresponding Member.
