The field visit will commence promptly at 8:00 AM at the Lebanese International University, whereupon attendees will board the university bus for a comfortable and convenient ride to the Zahrani Power Plant. Throughout the journey, attendees will have ample opportunity to engage with one another and bask in the picturesque views of the surrounding area. Upon arrival, expert guides will greet attendees and lead them on a comprehensive tour of the power plant's various facilities. The tour is designed to provide attendees with a deep understanding of the plant's operations, as well as insights into the latest technological advances that make modern power generation possible. After the tour, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in an informative Q&A session with the plant's knowledgeable experts. The session is designed to foster dialogue and facilitate the exchange of ideas, making it a highly engaging and productive experience for all involved. Blockchain To Fight Hyperinflation 🎙️| Who will give this session? ▶️| Maseh Hadaf & Christa-Maria Daoud Maseh Hadaf: He is the cofounder at Sinbad, a digital dollar wallet that helps people protect their savings from hyperinflation in the Middle East and North Africa. Sinbad is 1 of 6 companies out of 30 that graduated from the year-long, highly competitive Creative Destruction Labs Blockchain Programme, based out of the University of Toronto. He has worked at Global Affairs Canada, the UNDP in Ukraine, and with an organization serving refugees in Jordan. He is a top 30 under 30 York University alumni, Rhodes scholar finalist, and recipient of the national Canadian CGS-M scholarship for his paper on the relationship between gender and mobile internet use in Afghanistan. Christa-Maria Daoud: She is a driven individual who has dedicated herself to community engagement and building. As a Business Management student at Lebanese American University (LAU), she has achieved academic excellence and received a fully funded higher education scholarship from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). In addition to her academic achievements, Christa-Maria has demonstrated a deep commitment to social and humanitarian causes. She volunteers for over 12 hours each month with various NGOs. Her passion for community service has helped her develop a deep understanding of the challenges that many people face, as well as the importance of working collaboratively to overcome these challenges. As a community manager at Sinbad, she is responsible for finding universities to collaborate with, co-facilitating workshops, and managing social media accounts.
