Technology is permeating every part of our lives and is introducing new paradigms in various business sectors. In sports, athletes and coaches are making better decisions than ever before in history thanks to quite advanced, yet simple to use, technological tools that are available to them. Wearable technology, smart fabrics, Internet of Things, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence are only a few emerging technology terms that everyone speaks about today, and the future’s looking bright and promising. The rate of technological breakthroughs is beyond expectations and we are rapidly approaching the superhero stages. This lecture will focus on how all this has impacted and will impact the sports industry.

Mounir Zok - Biosketch

Born and raised in Beirut, Mounir Zok is a world citizen with 15+ years of experience in the sports industry and an expert in the field of sports technology. He has founded and advised several start-ups, advised investors and investment funds, and mentors at some of the leading incubators and accelerators. Recently, he was the Director of Technology & Innovation at the US Olympic Committee and in 2018 he moved from the Silicon Valley to Spain in his new capacity as co-founder and CEO of N3XT Sports. Mounir is originally from Lebanon, is fluent in 4 languages, holds a PhD in Bioengineering, and currently resides with his wife and 2 kids in Barcelona.
