Workshop “Sistemi elettrici e magnetismo”
Messina, April 21st, 2024

Il Chapter Italiano di IEEE Magnetics Society ha organizzato una giornata di lavoro sul tema “Sistemi Elettrici e Magnetismo”. La giornata è stata coordinata da Giovanni Finocchio e Anna Giordano dell’Università di Messina. Il programma ha previsto diversi relatori, tra cui:

Seminars of Esteban Garzon, University of Calabria
Bari, May 15th-16th, 2023

The Italy Chapter organized a seminar about “EXPLOITING SPINTRONIC TECHNOLOGY FOR ENERGY-EFFICIENT MEMORIES AND BEYOND CMOS COMPUTING”, given by Dr. Esteban Garzon, from the University of Calabria.

The seminar was in two days, May 15th and 16th, and it aimed to explore the history of CMOS technology and the current research about the hybrid integration of CMOS technology and spintronic devices.

Bari, May 15th-16th, 2023

The Italian Chapter of IEEE Magnetics Society hosted Dr. Roman Khymyn, from the Gothenburg University, who gave two seminars about “Spintronics: from fundamentals to applications” on June 6th and 7th, 2023.

The seminars were given at the Politecnico di Bari, Italy, in hybrid online – in person format.

IEEE Magnetics Society Summer School 2023
Carovigno (Br), June 11th-16th, 2023

The MAG Italy Chapter supported the organization of the IEEE Magnetics Society Summer School, organized by the Magnetics Society Educational Committee. The School was held at Riva Marina Resort, in Carovigno (Brindisi) from June 11th to June 16th, 2023. Vito Puliafito, of the Politecnico di Bari, Chair of the Chapter, and Giovanni Finocchio, of the University of Messina, past-Chair, were the Directors of the School.

94 students, coming from all around the world, participated at the school. Lectures were delivered by 14 international scientists, including the President of Magnetics Society, Atsufumi Hirohata, the Chair of the Educational Committee, Hyunsoo Yang, and three DLs of the Society for the year 2023.

Workshop “The versatility of magnetism” at Eurocon 2023
Torino, July 7th, 2023

During the 2023 IEEE Eurocon Conference, which was held in Torino from July 6th to 8th, 2023, the Italian Chapter of the Magnetics Society organized a workshop entitled “The versatility of magnetism: an overview on recent research in spintronics, energy and biomedicine applications”. The workshop was held on July 7th, chaired by Vito Puliafito, Paola Tiberto, and Carlo Ragusa.
