The IEEE CSS Italy was founded in 1998 by Professor Giuseppe Conte, who chaired it until 2016, when Prof. Maria Pia Fanti took over the chairing responsibilities. From 2019 to 2024, Fabrizio Dabbene chaired the Chaper.

Since 2025, the chapter is chaired by Alessandro Rizzo.
