
Contest Rules for IEEE Volunteer Activity Design
We are excited to announce a contest for IEEE volunteers to showcase their creativity and innovation in designing and conducting activities that incorporate sensor technologies and/or sustainability topics.
The aim is to engage students across various age groups, equipping them to be informed decision-makers and practitioners in the future economy shaped by these technologies. The contest is organized by IEEE Sensors Council Egypt Chapter, and is technically co-sponsored by IEEE SAC.
Eligibility and Participation
- Open to any IEEE Student Branch (SB) and SB Chapters within the 26 Member Societies.
- Participants can enter the contest either as individuals or as part of a team (Only one entry is allowed per SB/SB Chapter)
- Choose any topic related to sensors or sustainability concepts and technologies for your activity.
Contest Criteria
- Innovation and Creativity: We are searching for fresh, new ideas in concepts, materials, and methods.
- Engagement: Activities should be designed to actively involve and engage students.
- Educational Value: The activities should help students become informed about sensor technologies or sustainability, enhancing their ability to apply and master relevant knowledge.
- Multiple Activities: Participants may include more than one activity in a single submission.
- Originality: All submissions must be original work created by the participants.
Submission Requirements
Participants are required to submit the following:
- Short Video:
- Duration: The video should not exceed 3 minutes.
- Format: Participants provide a download link.
- Content: The video should creatively showcase the activities conducted in 2024 and organized by the student SB/ SB Chapter.
- Short Summary:
- Format: PDF (1-page)
- Content: The summary should include the following sections:
- Organizing Student SB/ SB Chapter Information:
- Name and brief introduction of the organizing body.
- Contact information for a representative.
- Activity Description:
- Detailed description of the activity or activities included in the submission.
- Explanation of how the activities relate to sensors and/or sustainability.
- Co-organizers, Partners, Sponsors, and Host Institution:
- List and provide information about any co-organizers, partners, sponsors, and the host institution involved in the activities.
- Impact Description:
- Outline the impact of the event(s), including:
- Number of participants.
- Professionals involved.
- Post-event evaluation.
- Any awards received as a result of the activities.

Prizes
Three prizes will be awarded to the best submissions, recognizing outstanding creativity and educational impact. The shortlisted submissions will be invited to present their activities during the IEEE Sensors Summit 2025, and the winners will be announced in the closing ceremony at GUC, Cairo Egypt on February 8th, 2025.
